Necmiye finished secondary school and went on to work as a staff manager for McDonald’s for 4 years. She has two older sisters who have their own families and a younger brother; all of her family still live in Germany. Her father moved there over 30 years ago and is a construction foreman for a home builder.

Necmiye has been living in Turkey for four years. She never would have thought she would move to Turkey and get married here. Her story started when she went to Sinop for an annual family holiday. While on her family holiday she met Ender her husband. She says they both liked each other and she thought why not see him more? They dated each other for one whole summer and the next summer, in 2008 they were married. She then decided to move to Turkey as she was living in Germany at the time with her family. It was a very hard decision for her to make but her husband Ender stood by her and helped her out a lot. Ender works for SubAqua as a professional dive guide.

After moving to Kaş, Necmiye worked at Silver Harmoni for a season, one of the many shops along Ibrahim Serin Caddesi specialising in silver pieces. Recently she met Ufuk Güven, a partner in Bougainville Travel and he said he wanted to talk to her. She thought “Why does he want to talk to me?” Later he called and asked her if she would like to be a manager in one of the BT hotels. Necmiye thought long and hard about if she could do something big like that. In the end she made the decision that she might as well try even if, at the time, she was uncertain.

Necmiye thanks the Arpia staff for their support and help during this learning period for her. She says thank you to Nuri Birsen, the Housekeeper, Yusuf Sarıca, one of the waiters, Nuri Bilecen Koç, the chef and recently added, Yusuf Akin, the Gardener. Necmiye says they have helped her out a lot in the hotel and believes they have all made a good start to the 2011 season. Please help make Necmiye feel welcome in her new home.
